Suzanne was born in New Iberia, Louisiana to Morris Joseph "Jimmy" Vanderhider, Jr. and Freddie Merle Ewing.
She passed away on May 9, 2021 in Montgomery, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Zadrowski; children, Haley Schoolfield and Evan O'Neal; her sister, Deborah Riggins; son-in-law, Clay Schoolfield; soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Hannah Latham; grandchildren, Lane Schoolfield, Jessica Schoolfield and Lincoln Popescu. Suzanne also leaves behind a large and beloved extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins in addition to her horse show family.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Knowing Suzanne meant knowing how much she loved her dogs and horses. She always had a vibrant yard and loved spending time gardening. If you were lucky, you got to enjoy Suzanne's Cajun cooking and on rare occasion she would share a "secret" recipe. She was feisty, fiery, passionate, endearing and beautiful. She will be missed.
Suzanne spent childhood summers at Camp Green Cove in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Camp Green Cove stamped a place in her heart in addition to being her start in the hunter jumper world. As an adult, she worked at brother camp Mondamin all summer so that Haley and Evan could enjoy the same the same enriched camp life in the mountains. She sang the praises of Camp Green Cove and Mondamin to anyone who would listen. As such, the family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Suzanne's memory to the Chief and Calla Bell Scholarship Foundation www.chiefandcalla.org.
