Mrs Anna Deppe Near Cross Roads Dies Al Age Of 83
Mrs Anna Barbara Deppe, 83, widow of the late Louis Deppe and a lifelong resident of Caseyville township, died In her home at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Mrs Deppe lived In Perrin's Addition one mile south of Cross Roads and had been In failing health for six years and bedfast the past six months.
She w as born in Caseyville township, August 4 I860, and her parents were the late John and Barbara Wild. Her husband Louis Deppe to whom she was married in Ridge Prairie, November 16, 1880, died September 22, 1930. Of eleven children born to the union five sons and one deughter preceded their mother in death.
The surviving children are: Lucy wife of William Holliday, Rural Route 2 Belleville; Frieda wife of Henry Gansman Swansea; Annie wife of William Drake, Rural Route 2 Belleville, Lena, wife of John Roberts, O'Fallon, and Mary wife of Gus George St Louis.
She also leaves 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Three brothers died earlier.
She was a member of the O'Fallon Evangelical church and Ladies' Aid Society.
The body will be taken to the family residence at 7 o'clock this evening where it will remain until 1 o'clock Sunday when it will be taken to the church. Services in the church will be at 2 o'clock and burial will follow in Caseyville village cemetery. Rev A E Klemme will officiate.
Members of the Ladies' Aid Society will meet in Schwarz Bros chapel at 7 o'clock Saturday evening to go in a body to the family residence.
