Bobby J. Lanham, age 74, of Midland, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash Inpatient Care Center. He was born August 17, 1946 in Middlesboro, Kentucky the son of the late Virgil and Blanche L. (Griffin) Lanham. Bobby had worked for Ford Motor Company in Michigan, then for G.E. in Sharonville. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. Bobby had served as Lay Minister for several churches, and had taught Sunday School for many years in southern Ohio. His passion was teaching the Word of Christ. Bobby is survived by his wife Sheila (McCarty) Lanham; children, Bobby Lanham, Jr. of Portsmouth, Pam (Jeff) Poynter of Cincinnati, Ray (Candy) Lanham of Hillsboro, Michele (Chuck) Whipple of Wilmington, Kip (Amy) Lanham of Pleasant Plain, and Virgil (Tonya) Lanham of Midland; grandchildren, Josh Lanham, Brittany Rowland, Nathan Lanham, Elijah Lanham, Jacob Lanham, and Ava Lanham; several great grandchildren; his sisters Lorraine, Carolyn, Dorothy, and Mae; and many friends. In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley (Sweat) Lanham May 13, 2005; and grandchildren, Carl Lanham, Zachary Lanham, and DJ Gerondale. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home, Wilmington. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Westboro Cemetery privately at the convenience of the family.
