NORRIS, John (J.D.I.) 1955 - 2021 John Darwin Isaac Norris died on April 30, 2021, age 65, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He squeezed out every bit of life and joy with incomparable dignity and grace. John was born September 21, 1955 in Dallas, Texas to his father W.D.I. (Top) Norris and his mother Freddie Norris Pace. He was a devoted son, beloved brother, and adoring father and grandfather. John will always be remembered for his "movie star" good looks, his infectious sense of humor, oftentimes, self-deprecating, and his kind heart. He recently celebrated his life at a party surrounded by his dearest friends. Many of whom he has known over 50 years. J.D.I. dearly loved his friends. He was blessed to enjoy a diverse group of friends, from billionaires to good ol' boys. He commented that his party was "the happiest 3 hours of my life!" As always, John was the life of the party and a gracious host. He dressed handsomely and was a thoughtful and generous gentleman. John grew up in the Park Cities, graduated Hillcrest High School and attended Menlo College in California. He loved The Beatles, his GSX Muscle Car, and the Oil 'n' Gas business. He is survived by his dear friend, Marty Thompson, Dallas, his loving sister and brother-in-law, Mary and L. Wayne Feller, PhD., Houston, his cherished daughter, Diana Norris and her life partner, Antonia Josten, Berlin, Germany, his 4 month old grandson who brought him great delight, Tassilo Top Francis Norris, (little Top), Berlin, his treasured cousin, Diana Potter, whom he named his daughter after, Dallas. His family especially appreciates the invaluable advocacy given to John by his close friends, Cindy and Mitch Lewis, Dallas. John passed peacefully at Faith Presbyterian Hospice Care. No formal services will be conducted per John's wishes. Donations in John's memory may be made to Faith Presbyterian Hospice, Dallas, or a charity of your choice.
