Eva Belle (Scott) Hopper Stanfill Ade

WIMBERLEY, Texas - Former Caney resident Eva Belle (Scott) Hopper Stanfill Ade, age 95, died Thursday morning, May 3, 2001 at the Deer Creek Nursing Center in Wimberley, Texas, where she had been a resident since January 2001.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 5 at the Graves Memorial Chapel in Caney. Burial was held in El Cado Cemetery west of Caney.

Eva Belle (Scott) Hopper Stanfill Ade was born on Sept. 14, 1905, in Peru, Kan.,to Isaac Peter and Nellie Ann (Chance) Scott. She attended Caney High School.

Her first marriage was to Joe Hopper, a second marriage was to Wesley Stanfill, and her third marriage was to Jake Ade. They have all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Hugh Hopper, her parents, two brothers and one sister.

She lived in Peru, Elgin and Caney for many years before moving to Tahlequah, Okla., Oklahoma City, Okla., and Park Hill, Okla.

She was a homemaker. She also was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking (especially apple pies), card playing and traveling in her Air Stream Travel Trailer.

She was a member of the Caney United Methodist Church and the Priscilla Club of Caney.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Cagle Moore, and her husband, Richard,now of Wimberley, Texas; two brothers, John Scott of Hutchinson, Kan., and A.G. Scott and wife Barbara of Tulsa, Okla; one sister, Katie Graham and husband Charles of Ponca City, Okla., one daughter-in-law, Virginia Hopper of Shreveport, La.; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Caney United Methodist Church or Hospice Inc. Memorials can be left at Graves Funeral Home in Caney.
