In July of 1971 Mike was injured in an auto accident that left him severely paralyzed. One of his 1st jobs after the accident was with the H.P. Streicher Company. Mike continued toward his goal of a college degree, finishing with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toledo in 1984. In the late 1970s, Mike owned the Red Dog Saloon in West Toledo. For many years he was an inventory control specialist at Bauer-Wenner auto industrial supply company.
Mike's family is so appreciative to his St. Francis "Red Dog" friends for their loving support through the years. He loved taking "rolls" through his neighborhood with his dogs. His ability to "live in the present" was an inspiration and example to all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. John C. Kelleher, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; mother, Rose Mary Kelleher; brothers, Dr. John (Cindy) Kelleher Jr., Robert (Patti) Kelleher, Kevin Kelleher, David (Terri) Kelleher; sisters, Kathy (Joe) Scalzo, Mary (Doug) Arnold, Krissy (Kevin) Wong and Rosemary (Brooks) Albery, along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road, on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be recited at 7 p.m. The funeral will begin on Wednesday in the mortuary at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass at Gesu Church beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
