Douglas McArthur Chase, 77, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away after a week struggle with COVID-19.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Peggy Turner Chase, 3 bothers, and 1 sister.

Mr. Chase was born on July 30, 1943 in Jones County, NC.

He joined the US Army at the age of 17, where he retired after 21 years of service. After retirement, he worked in many different fields including law enforcement, car sales, civil service, and truck driving. He was a proud member of Creasy Proctor Lodge in Fayetteville and served as Master in 1983. In 1992, he was appointed as District Deputy Grand Lecturer for the 14th Masonic District.

He is survived by his son, Paul Douglas Chase of Summerville, SC, sister-in-law, Sally, Brenda, Elaine, Linda, Addie, several nieces and nephews, and best friend, Peggy & Jimmie Price of Fayetteville.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to make a donation to either the Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Jude's Hospital for children, or the charity of your choice.

Funeral service will be held, 2 PM, Friday, Baptist Tabernacle Church. MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Family will speak with friends following the service. Arrangements are with Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 211 W. Third St, Wendell.
