Cynthia Lynn Barton, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend, went peacefully to her Lord May 5, 2021. Cindy was born March 10, 1960, in Monmouth, IL. She graduated high school in Galesburg, IL, and earned her Bachelor's degree from OSU in 1989.
Cindy married Larry Barton and together raised three boys. She had a successful career as a Financial Analyst in the oil & gas industry, but her favorite place to be was at the beach, surrounded by friends and family, with a cool glass of chardonnay in her perfectly manicured hand.
Cindy was a beautiful, kind-hearted, and nurturing person who saw goodness in everyone. Of all the accomplishments in life, her greatest joy was her son, Brock. She was his greatest cheerleader, both on the basketball court and in life, in general.
Cindy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Larry Barton, and her parents, Phillip Hottell and Kay Prescott.
Cindy is survived by her sons, Brock Barton, Lance Barton (Sharon), and Forrest Barton (Tiffany); her step-father, Mike Prescott; her brother, Jeff Hottell (Brenda), her sisters, Lisa Ryan (John) and Kim Clouston (Eric); her grandchildren, Brianne, Blake, Sheridan, and Hayes Barton; her nieces, Whitney Granado and Lindsey Hottell; her nephew, Reece Hottell; aunts, Mary Hottell-Clymer, Janice Painter and Linda Lewis and uncle Lee Hottell plus numerous other family members.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 13th from 4:00-8:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel, 4901 Everhart Rd, Corpus Christi TX. She will be laid to rest next to her husband on Saturday, May 15th at 2:00 pm in the Salado Cemetery in Salado, TX.
