TOON, Charles E. Affectionately known as "Butch, Nic and Charlie" age 61 of Troy, a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle. Charles exited this life unexpectedly on Saturday, November 3, 2007. He was preceded in death by his father Elmer and infant sister Cindy June. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 39 years, Atha, his children, Sara Elizabeth (Betsy) and Christopher Whitney, (Fenton, Michigan); Mary Kathren Toon, Troy, and Charles Christopher and Christine Toon, Troy; his mother Birdie Toon, East Prairie, Missouri; 4 brothers; William and Dianne Toon, Glen Carbon, Illinois; Richard & Debbie Toon, White, Georgia; Anthony and Cheryl Toon, East Prairie, Missouri; James and Shelley Toon, Green Coves Spring, Florida, 3 Sisters; Mary Ruth and Robert Richardson, Platte City, Missouri; Judith and Eugene Shaw, Fort Meyers, Florida, Jennifer and Darryl Buchanan, Morley, Missouri, along with nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. His accomplishments began at an early age. As a graduating senior from Anniston High School he was recognized at the Missouri High School Basketball Tournament as a best re-bounder, best scorer and first team all conference, first team all district. He was selected to go to Boys State. He scored 655 points during the 1963-64- basketball season. He was a faithful member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. He was very proud of Local #82 and worked diligently for the betterment of his brothers and sisters. He was active in the community as coach of the little league baseball, girls softball and pee wee football. Charles was a 39-year member of Electricians Local #82 where he served as; President, Vice President, Joint Apprentice Training Instructor, Health and Welfare Committee, and was currently treasurer serving on the executive board, credit union board Of directors, recreation committee, chairman and delegate to the International Convention. Throughout his life, he worked as a construction electrician for 39 years with Kastle Electric where he made numerous friends that have become a part of his extended family. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday November 7, 2007, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Tipp City, Ohio. With Rev. R. Marc Sherlock officiating. Interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Tipp City, OH. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Frings and Bayliff Funeral Home in Tipp City, OH and from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, prior to Mass at Church. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. John's Church.
