Funeral services for A. BROWN DUBEL, retired president of the State Mutual Building Association, will be conducted at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. Mr. Dubel died Friday at the Johns Hopkins Hospital after a brief illness. He was 70 years old. Prayers will be offered at the William J. Tickner & Sons funeral establishment. Burial in New Cathedral Cemetery.
Mr. Dubel was born in Baltimore in 1893. He was educated at Baltimore City College and the Pace Institute. He had been president of the State Mutual Building Association until his retirement in 1960. He was a former vice president of the Council of State Charter Building, Savings and Loan Associations, a past governor of the Sons of the American Revolutioin and past director of the Real Estate Board of Baltimore.
He was also past director of the Southeastern Group of the united States Savings and Loan League, a past director of the Baltimore Rotary Club, and a past director of the Youth Service of the Baltimore Rotary Club. He also was a member of the Baltimore Society of Resident Appraisers.
Mr. Dubel, who lived at 4502 North Charles Street, leaves his wife, Mrs. Mae Eiser Dubel and four children. They are: W. Summerfield Dubel, Miami, Fla.; John E. Dubel, Rocky Mount, NC; Harriet D. Prior, Baltimore and Patricia D. Rock, Lutherville. He is also survived by a brother, William S. Dubel, Dayton, Ohio; and 15 grandchildren.
