Mrs. Mary Lynn Barefoot Honeycutt, 76, of Roseboro passed away from this earthly life and stepped into a beautiful place called "Heaven" on Friday, May 7, 2021. She was born on September 29, 1944 to the late Willard "Sam" and Mary Barbour Barefoot. On December 14, 1963 she married the love of her life, the late Gene Clayton Honeycutt. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of their only son, Clayton Chadwick Honeycutt.

She is survived by her son, Chad, her devoted daughter in law, Martha Raynor Honeycutt, her only grandchild, the apple of her eye, Clayton Raynor Honeycutt, her loving brother, Gary Fenton Barefoot, a dear cousin, Pam Wood and a host of other cousins and their families.

Mrs. Honeycutt, a 1961 graduate of Midway High School and a graduate of Hardbarger Business School began her career at Johnson Cotton Company. She eventually found her career calling with Dr. Wells and Dr. Owens, founders of the Clinton Medical Clinic. After 42 years of service as a medical transcriptionist, she retired to allow her more time to partner with her brother to care for their mother until her death and to care for her husband, Gene. While looking after her husband daily, Mary Lynn shared her love and compassion with the residents, families, and the staff of Southwood Nursing Home. She shared the amazing deliciousness she created in her kitchen with many residents, family members and the staff. Cooking was her way of loving and blessing others. And she did it very well.

Mrs. Honeycutt was a member of Robert's Grove OFWB Church where she gave her heart to her Lord and Savior at a very young age. She served her Lord daily by sharing her love of life, her happiness, gifts and talents with others. She served her church by teaching Sunday School, the YFA's and Bible Studies, serving in the Woman's Auxiliary, hosting numerous showers, fundraisers and always volunteering to help in any efforts of Christian service. She was a devoted member of the church choir and the Honeycutt Trio where she sang for over 50 years.

She was a beautiful example of a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. And she was a beautiful example of a true Christian and friend.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Robert's Grove Free Will Baptist Church beginning at 3:00 pm. Dr. Ricky J. Warren will be officiating the service. Interment to follow at Robert's Grove Church Cemetery.
