Obituary for William Robert Hodges
William Robert Hodges joined his Lord on May 7, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on August 19, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas to William Oscar Hodges and Lillie Pauline Hierholzer. William was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Le Moyne Dorsey. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Nancy Hodges; daughter, Lyndsay Hodges (Maghen); nieces, Laurie Benavides (Roy), Carol Walker and Amy Maupin (Phil); and nephew, William Walker. Will; also known as Billy Boy, Willie, Uncle Billy, (and lately he would tell people, with a smile, they could call him Guillermo); enjoyed and will be remembered for his passion for volleyball and watching his daughter play or coach the game. His Tall Texas "T" Hot Rod is his legacy left behind, it was his pride and joy that he started building when he was only 19. He faithfully served his country in the Naval Reserves for 20 years and as a Civil Servant on Security Hill at Kelly AFB. His favorite response to the question of what he did for a living was "well I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you," always said with his coy grin.
