According to Clyde E. Story's letter, his father was James Story born in Georgia about 1806 (See Samuel Story in Georgia for place in South GA.) IN 1835 James Story married Eliza Matilda Hurst in Jefferson County, Fl. By 1848 they had 5 children. 6 months before the last child was born James Story was killed by the Indians. Soon after 1850 Eliza and her 5 children moved to the Kissimmee area
He married twice: first to Rachel Lucinda Hurst in 1885. She died in 1903 leaving several young children. John remarried in 1906 to Lenora "Nora" Green.
