Joseph William Lomas, age 76, well known farmer of Bennington community in north Edwards county, died Saturday night after a long illness. The body was taken to the Summers Funeral Home in Olney.
He is survived by the following children; Mrs. Mary Schrader of Olney, Mrs. Esther Thomson of Sumner, Mrs. Lillie Thomas, Mrs. Alda Beaumont, Mrs. Amy Thomas and Mrs. Lola Merkle, all of Olney, and Conrad Lomas of West Salem. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Hannah Barre of Parkersburg, 26 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Primitive Baptist church near West Salem with Rev. David Beecher of Olney in charge. Burial was in the Macedonia cemetery.
