Sarah "Sadie" Francis Oleson, 85, Newcastle, Wyo., formerly of Rapid City, S.D., died Thursday Nov. 24 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Sarah Oleson was born Dec. 31, 1909 in New Ulm, MN the daughter of Elmer and Lavina (Johnston) Martin.
She married Milo "Mike" Oleson on Aug. 28, 1931, in Glenwood, MN
Survivors include four sons, Raymond Gilbertson, Sioux Falls, S.D. Leo Oleson, Newcastle, Kenneth Oleson, Concordia, Kas., andn Dennis Oleson, Henderson, Nev.; two daughters, Sylvia Wynegar, Rapid City, S.D. and Vern Fitzinger,, Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Julie Birdsall, Newcastle; and one sister in law, Florence Martin, Glenwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Milo; one daughter, Joyce; seven brothers; and one sister.
Services were held Monday, Nov 28, in Newcastle, Wyoming, with the Rev. Joe Birdsall (Sarah's nephew; son of Julie Birdsall) officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery, next to her husband, Milo Oleson. (Rapid City SD)
