Fernando, 57, of Battle Creek, went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 7, 2021. Fernando was the son of the late Jose Ramirez and Jovita O. (Ornelas) Ramirez.

He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. He met his wife Diane (Buczynski) Ramirez in 1985, and they were married the following year. They were married for 35 years and built a lifetime of memories.

He worked for the City of Battle Creek for over 30 years and spent most of his career at Bailey Park. He and his crew were known as the "Bailey Boys". They worked as a team building and maintaining the ball diamonds at Bailey Park winning Awards for their performance. He looked at them as a family and always said those were the best years of his life.

Fernando was an avid movie buff and music lover. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan, who tolerated The Detroit Lions for the sake of the kids and grandkids.

He loved his children and adored his grandchildren, affectionately known as "Boo Boo". He was devoted to his nieces and nephews with loving guidance and support. He especially enjoyed hosting family gatherings and looked forward to family vacations. He was kind and generous to a fault but lived his life to the fullest.

Fernando is survived by his loving wife Diane Ramirez; their children, Alexia (Brandon) Smith, Thomas (Staci) Casarez, Fernando (April Ann) Ramirez Jr.; grandchildren, Kiera, Olivia, Lily, Laila, Jett, Ava, Reese, Gabe, and Amaya; siblings, Juan Ramirez, Simon (Candy) Ramirez, Francisco (Suzie) Ramirez, Jose (Tammie) Ramirez, Jr., Carmen Esquivel, Marta (Lupe) Sanchez, Jovita (Javier) Puentes, Leonarda Ramirez, Margarita (Arturo) Ruiz.
