God has called his finest gardener to tend the flowers in Heaven; Cindy Lee VanBrocklyn McDonald of Burnsville, North Carolina, made her journey on May 7, 2021, at the age of sixty.

Cindy was born February 23, 1961, to the late Carol Ann Boott Prentiss and Robert Reid VanBrocklyn in Springfield, Massachusetts. Living most of her life in Jacksonville, FL she moved to Burnsville, NC's Smokey Mountains where she loved to explore all that nature had to offer.
Cindy always had a smile on her face and a facetious story on her lips, and on her more serious days she could blow ones mind with facts and information they never knew they needed to know. Her greatest day was one spent with her family, she also enjoyed gardening and going to the beach.

Surviving Cindy is the love of her life Shawn McDonald, to whom she was married forty-three years; adoring children, Shawna Sapp (Scott) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Tyler McDonald (Amber) of Burnsville, North Carolina; brother, Kirk VanBrocklyn (Cindy); loving grandchildren, Justin Sapp (Brieannah) and Shawn Sapp (Maya) of Jacksonville, Florida, Breianna Feagle (Blayne) of Lake City, Florida, and Ryker McDonald of Burnsville, North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Peyton Sapp of Jacksonville, Florida, and Sawyer Feagle of Lake City, Florida.

Special thanks to hospice and the Solace Center in Asheville, North Carolina, for their loving and heartfelt care of Cindy and her family during the most difficult time in our lives.
