Kimberly Stoner Short, "Kim"

Age 63, of Vandalia, OH died unexpectedly on Nov.15th 2020. She was born July 17th, 1957 to the late Mary Stoner and Daniel Stoner II. After graduating from Butler High School in 1975, she went on to work at the Miami Conservancy District testing water in a lab at UD. That job is where she met her soon to be husband, Christopher Short. Kim and Chris were married on Sept 15th 1979. They raised two children together with patience, love and a lot of laughter. Kim later on pursued a job in banking where she made many life-long friends. Kim wore many hats. One of which being an amateur writer and poet, having a poem published in the Library of Congress. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend who loved her family fiercely and lite up when she was around her grandkids. Kim was passionate about all animals, especially her dog Otis - who lived to be 18. She was a free spirit who preferred being outside amongst nature and flowers. She was a knowledgeable gardener who loved " playing in the dirt" as she would say. Kim was an old soul who never judged anyone and was the light in the darkness of many lives. Her fun loving and adventurous demeanor was captivating to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Kim was preceded in death by her sister, Angela Stoner and nephew, Daniel Stoner IV.

She is survived by her husband, Chris Short, son Christopher Jordan Short (Kari), daughter Cassidy Colleen Short, grandchildren; Sophia Bush, David Levy, Ayrton Short and Corin Short. Her brother Daniel Stoner III ( Jill), her sister Josie Borders, nephew Tony D'Angelo (Brooke), niece Elizabeth Borders Masri (Ismail), great nephew Hunter D'Angelo and great niece Summer D'Angelo.

Kim's faith in God was strong and although taken from this earth too soon, she was called home to be with the Lord. Kim was beautiful inside and out and will be deeply missed, cherished, and remembered by her friends and family.

A memorial service/ Inurnment Ceremony will be held on May 15, 2021 at Hope Lutheran Church 500 Hickory St. Dayton, OH 45410 from 3- 5pm. Feel free to dress casual or wear an old classic rock T-Shirt. We all know her hippie loving soul would get a kick out of that.
