Betty Lou McHone Hicks, 74, of Asheville passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. Born April 2, 1947 in Asheville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Betty McHone. She was a graduate of Asheville High School class of 1965. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Tina Roberts and Terry Penland. Surviving is her spouse of 56 years, Ronald Lee Hicks; daughter, Donna H. McMahan of Asheville, NC; siblings, Cathy English and her spouse, Ken, and Teresa Edwards and her spouse, Rodney, all of Weaverville, NC, and Tommy McHone and his spouse, Michelle, of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Eric McMahan Jr. of Asheville, NC, and Ben McMahan and his spouse, Kaitlyn, of Weaverville, NC; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Kylie McMahan. a private service will be held at a later date.
