Obituary for Bobby Eugene Campbell
Bobbie E. Campbell went to his eternal life on May 8, 2021. He was born in Boynton, Ga on May 26, 1931 and lived in Chickamauga, Ga for over 50 years. He was just shy of his 90th birthday.
Bob had a zest and vigor for life, and never met a stranger. He was a good hearted and generous man who made a multitude of life-long friends. He was most passionate about his music, family, and Christ the Savior. His early years in the Navy (53-55) aboard the USS Taylor during the Korean War sculpted his life. He had great pride for his construction company, Campbell's Construction, which he ran with his son for most of his adult life.
Bob was blessed with a very creative and imaginative mind and had a genuine talent for singing, writing, and storytelling. He was a member of McFarland United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Franks, and his only brother Tom Campbell.
He is survived by his adored wife of 60 years, Helen Campbell; his children, Vince (Jeannine) Campbell of Birchwood, TN, Lori (Wayne) Cooke of Rossville, GA, and Kim (Freddie) Harris of Rock Spring, GA; his grandchildren, Austin (Kathryn) Miller, Hailey Scott, Emily and Sophie Harris, and his great grandchildren, Malachi, Collin, Madison Miller, and Olivia Scott.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 13, 2021 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery, with Min. Wayne Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday and prior to leaving for the service on Thursday. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home-J. Avery Bryan Chapel, Chickamauga.
