Joe Griffith, 91, of San Angelo, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021.

He was born November 12, 1929 in Coleman, Texas to John and Timy Boles Griffith.

Joe attended Bangs High School and graduated in 1949.

He went on to join the US Air Force in 1950 where he retired after 25 years as a recruiter with a rank of Master Sargent.

Joe married the love of his life, Wanda, on August 14, 1954 and together they shared 55 beautiful years of marriage together and had two children.

Joe was a proud member of the Foreign Legion.

He had a passion for reading, bluegrass music, dogs (especially Missy and Cricket) and his church.

Joe will always be remembered for his generous contributions to a number of organizations.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Griffith, his parents, John and Timy Boles Griffith, and his sister, Ima Brewer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Randy Joe Griffith and wife Taresia of Merkel, TX; Johnny Lee Griffith and wife Kathy of Copperas Cove, TX, as well as two granddaughters, Shandra Griffith and Rajeanna Brem and husband Keary; and two great grandchildren, Logan and Barrett Sloan and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Angelo Bible Church with burial to follow at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the Griffith family asks that you make a memorial donation in Joe's name to the Disabled Veterans Association.

The family would also like to thank Johnson's Funeral Home, Rev. Jim Stanley and Angelo Bible Church.
