OLD PIONEER PASSES AWAY

J.W. Robbins was born in Illinois in 1845, died in the McMillin community of this county March 3, 1928. In 1871 he was married to Miss Margaret Steaver in Missouri and later they came to Texas and to San Saba county. Surviving are 12 children, 37 grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Deceased was a Confederate veteran and was a man of simple and frugal habits. He was charitable and abhorred shams of all kinds. He had never united with any church but was a firm believer in the Christ and followed many of the precepts of the Master. The body was buried in the Wallace cemetery, Rev. J. D. Coleman, pastor of the San Saba Baptist church, conducting the funeral services.
