Walter Clayton Howard of Prattsville, Arkansas was born November 16, 1948, at Little Rock, the son of the late Walter and Orpha Benson Howard. He was a member of Full Gospel Campground Church in Sheridan and was a retired roofer. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Clayton died May 7, 2021, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, at the age of 72. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lamar Cash, Jr.; brother, Leon Howard; sisters, Carolyn Sanders, Linda Rice.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Bernice Howard of Prattsville; son, Clayton DeWayne Thompson of Redfield; daughters, Deborah (Rodney) Farmer of Prattsville, Teresa (Keith) DeWeese of Prattsville, Martha (Jason) Harris of Redfield, Angie McCoy of Oklahoma; brother, Robert Howard of Little Rock; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan with Bro. Bert Montgomery and Bro. Larry Swiger officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery at East End. The visitation is Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Cemetery Association 3412 Lorance Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72206.
