Peggy Lou Butler Evans, 67, of Princeton passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at her home.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 11:30 until 12:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery in Dudley.

She was born in Sampson County on July 5, 1953 to the late Willie Junior and Francis Tatum Butler.

She was retired from Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro and served as secretary of UE Local 150. Wilbert "BayBay" and Peggy open their home to people with welcoming arms. Peggy enjoyed everything that involved family and friends including fishing, family reunions, family cookouts where she was known as the Original Grill Master.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbert L. Evans Sr.; one son, Wilbert L. Evans Jr. of Goldsboro; two daughters, LaFawnda Evans of Goldsboro and LaToya Evans of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren, Jaihla Evans, Jazmine Chambers, DeShawn Evans, Johnneice Pearsall, Jariah Pearsall, Kairell Evans, MaJic Muhammad, and MaJesty Muhammad all of Goldsboro; one great-grandson on the way, Jairee Mumford; one brother, Ronnie Butler of Georgia; six sisters, Mary Neal and husband, Harold of Wilson, Francis Jackson of Ohio, Cynthia Profit of Goldsboro, Brenda Butler of Goldsboro, Pamela Atkinson and husband, Dennis of Goldsboro and Addie Uzzell and husband, Trevino of Goldsboro and a host of Honorary Children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her four brothers, Burnice, Thomas, Billy Ray and Roy Butler and one sister, Anna Butler Benton.

The family will be receiving friends in Goldsboro, NC.
