Mary M. Lopez, age 80, went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2021.
Mary was born in Lockhart, TX May 28, 1940. She was raised mainly in San Antonio, TX. For many years she worked at Turbine Support as a brazer. She alone raised six children. Although times were tough, because of her faith in Jesus, she always managed to keep everything together. In 1981, she met the love of her life, Dennis Martinez. They were together for 40 years. She had an incredible sense of humor and she loved to dance. She would help you if she thought you needed help, even before you could ask. She gave love to everyone.
Mary was preceded in death by her Father, Gorgonio Castaneda; Mother, Maria G. Morales; brothers, Julian Castaneda, John Castaneda, and son, John Henry Lopez.
She is survived by Dennis Martinez, her children, Eva M. Lavers, Patricia A. Tello (Maurice), Timothy R. Lopez (Dana), Richard D. Lopez, Elizabeth J. Scott (Sidney), and step-son, Daniel R. Martinez; brothers, Joe Castaneda, Tim Morales (Rachel), and Joe Morales; sisters, Patricia Chavez (Carlos), Delia Fernandez, and Micaela Salinas. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and extended family members she "adopted" throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all.
Services will be as follows:
The Rosary will be at Porter Loring North, in the chapel, on Wednesday, May 19th, at 7 PM.
Visitation will be between 6vPM - 8 PM.
The Mass is scheduled at St. Helena's Catholic Church on May 20th at 10 AM.
Donations can be made in memory of Mary M. Lopez to the Alzheimer's Association.
