Doris Jean (Ricke) Heimann of Allen, Texas passed away on May 8, 2021 at the age of 95. She was born on December 17, 1925 to Charles Joseph Ricke and Mildred (Beckway) Ricke in Galveston, Texas. Doris graduated from Ball High School in Galveston and married Werner Heimann in 1943 right after she graduated. They had 3 children and moved several times before settling in Plano, Texas in 1988. Doris volunteered by crocheting baby blankets for local hospitals, skull caps for the troops overseas and repaired books for the Plano Public Library. Doris faithfully served her Plano community for 18 years before she began enjoying her retirement.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Melissa Heimann and "adopted" daughter, Alice Stroh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Werner Heimann; sons, Steve Heimann and Rick Heimann and Sophie.
A "come and go" visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Restland Memorial Park, 9220 Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243.
