She married Phillip Ivan Westbrook 24 May 1969

Opal Carlene Westbrook, age 93, of Wichita Falls, Texas went to be with our Lord on July 29, 2023.
The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the funeral home with Rev. Jacob Fields, officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Opal was born in Oklahoma City, OK. on October 4, 1929, to the late Carl and Augusta (Long) Locke. Opal lived in Wichita Falls, Texas where she enjoyed family visits and bingo with her friends at Senior Care. She was first and foremost a devoted Christian and Prayer Warrior. She loved teaching Kindergarten Sunday School and volunteering for "Friends of the Library."Opal was a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Bethania Hospital for over 30 years before retiring.
Along with her parents, Opal was preceded in death by her second husband, Phillip I. Westbrook (d. 1977), her first husband, Kenneth G. Hoyer (d. 1965), as well as her eldest son, Kenneth R. Hoyer (d. 2022) and her sister, Anna Ruth Gray (d. 2019).
Opal is survived by three children: Carol Ruth DeBord and husband, Gene, Sharon Jean Hoyer Brown, Phillip Curtis Westbrook, and wife Dottie; 12 grandchildren: 12 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
