Columbia Heights, MN - Janette (Jan) Frances Horton (nee Wilsmann), aged 90, of Columbia Heights, MN passed away peacefully on May 4, 2021. Janette was born December 2, 1930 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, daughter of Ernest and Lucile Wilsmann (nee Meyer). She was baptized into faith on January 6, 1931 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manitowoc, the same church in which she was confirmed on May 27, 1945 and where she married on December 2, 1961. Jan was a 1949 graduate of Manitowoc's Lincoln High School and worked at both Mirro Aluminum and as a Medical Assistant in Doctor Norman Erdmann's Office. Jan was active in many groups over the years, including the Minnesota Medical Assistants, Little Voyager's Montessori School Board of Directors, and numerous groups supporting education in the Columbia Heights School District. Jan was also a very faithful and active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Columbia Heights for many years, including serving in the Women's Guild, and Reformation Circle.
