Kara Marie Miller, age 37, of Marshall, Mi passed away unexpectedly due to a heart condition with her family by her side at Hillsdale Hospital on May 6th, 2021. Kara was born March 22, 1984 in Marshall Mi to Randy and Twyla (Roberts) Newsome. She was a 2002 graduate of Springport High School.
She prided herself as a cosmotologist. On the weekends, you could find Kara singing, dancing and playing games with friends. She enjoyed spending time on the lake, going on boat rides, and sitting by the pool with a drink in her hand. She loved playing softball, going to concerts, late night campfires, and supporting her children, friends, and family in 4-H. Kara loved her nephews unconditionally and spoiled them rotten. Above all, Kara loved and cherished her daughter Randi.
Kara is survived by her parents Randy and Twyla (Roberts) Newsome, sister Keshia (Jason) Severns, step son Owen Miller, daughter Randi Miller, nephews Tanner and Brayden Severns, cherished significant other Coby Hall, Grandparents Jerlene Prater, Juanita (Duane) Cole, Fred (Nancy) Newsome and numerous beloved family members and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her Grandpa JJ Roberts, Uncles Clayton Roberts and Ray Roberts, and Aunt Amy Susdorf.
Those who knew Kara well knew that she was the 2002 beer chugging champion, the Queen of Turtle Cove, the person who was always "just" passing Rice Creek, the No Pants Monster, the best Aunt Rara, baby whisperer, Coyote Ugly Dancer, the master of the selfie, the "F" bomb dropper, everyone's favorite hair stylist (even if she was 3 hours late and took 8 smoke breaks) and of course, Kara was and forever will be, the eternal Life of the Party!
One of Kara's favorite things to do was to send all the kids on a wild goose chase to find her leg that she told them had "hopped away"! You could always count on Kara for a good time! She had that raspy, infectious laugh that was contagious to all. There was never a doubt how much Kara loved her family and friends. No matter how long it had been since you had seen Kara, she was the kind of friend who could pick right up where you left off. Her zest for life and her carefree attitude made it impossible not to love her!
Kara was the strongest person you will ever meet. Despite the many obstacles she faced in her life, she fought like a champion and lived every day to the fullest! Although we are saddened during this time, we can find comfort in knowing that she is now without pain and suffering. We know that there is one heck of a party going on in Heaven with Big Grandpa and Kara is finally at peace.

Friends are encouraged to support Kara's family by attending visitation on Wednesday, May 12th from 4-8 and Thursday, May 13th from 10-11 at Vickers Funeral Home in Springport. The funeral will be held Thursday, May 13th at 11am. Masks are encouraged. Please join the family to celebrate Kara's life with a dinner at the VWF in Springport after the funeral.
