A native of South Bend, Indiana, he was born to the late Marcus M. Gilman and Lillian Rudick Gilman on April 26, 1930.
Arnie was the president of Allied Insurance Agency before retiring in 1999. He was an Army Veteran in the Signal Corp during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
In addition, he is preceded in death by his siter, Beverly Gelber.
Arnie is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dolores Twardowski Gilman; children, Terry Skinner (Douglas), Frank Malkewicz (Lisa), Thomas Gilman (Phyllis), Deborah Schwartz (Mike), Douglas Gilman (Gayle), Judy Gilman and Lisa Gilman (Michael Rheinheimer). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and his brother, David Gilman.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 508 Breckenridge Lane with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at the church.
