After graduating from the Springfield [Mo.] Secretary School, she worked at the Pine Bluff [Ark.] Arsenal during WWII where she met Paul Elton Bennett from Mountainair, NM. They were married in 1942 and returned to Brightwater to make their home where they raised their two children and Paul's brother, Charles Fred Bennett.
Wanda and Paul were members of Brightwater Methodist Church where they served as Youth Leaders for many years, and Wanda was active in the United Methodist Women, serving on all committees and at the annual church bazaar. Wanda was a homemaker and took care of the farm where she raised chickens and cattle while Paul worked as the Northwest Arkansas Highway Director. Wanda was widowed in 1987; she continued to be active in the community and on the farm. She loved to travel and visited every US state and Canada.
