Mrs. Betty Jean Carr, age 85 of Mineola, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 in Mineola. She was born on May 19, 1935 in Pampa, Texas to the late Lewis Gore and Florence Ford Gore.
Betty was a member of First United Methodist Church of Golden. Alongside working in the banking industry for over 50 years she was involved with many of the community organizations such as the Mineola Kiwanis Club, the Lake Country Playhouse, Mineola League of the Arts and Mineola ISD School Board. She was President of the Aggie Mom's Club and was named Mineola's Woman of the year twice.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Kenneth Carr in 2012.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Ray Carr of Keller and his wife, Avantika and Joe Carr of Alba and his wife Sammie; three grandchildren, Kenley Cheyenne Carr, Brayley Cruz Carr and Amari Sierra Carr.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home 5320 S. State Hwy. 37 Mineola, TX. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Morrow conducting. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Garden in Mineola.
