Kyle Martin Jackson, 31, was born on August 24, 1989 and died on Monday, May 3, 2021 in Lafourche Parish. A native and resident of Baton Rouge, Kyle was a 2007 graduate of Catholic High School and a 2011 graduate of LSU, earning his degree in International Studies. During his years as a student at Catholic High, Kyle was a member of the school's tennis team. Kyle also served on mission trips to Honduras, Zambia, and the Philippines. After graduating from Catholic High, Kyle served as the team's assistant tennis coach and became the school's head tennis coach in 2013. During his coaching career, Catholic High's tennis teams won eight regional titles and four Division 1 state titles and one runner-up finish. Kyle's greatest achievement in coaching, however, was his ability to build character in his players and see them develop into outstanding, productive, and responsible young men. In addition to Kyle's time as a tennis coach, he served as the current president of the Catholic High Alumni Association. After graduating from LSU, Kyle had a successful career as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker One in Baton Rouge and was a member of the Baton Rouge Realtors Association's Board of Directors. Kyle is survived by his wife, Emily Sulzer Jackson; his parents, Joyce Terry Wilkening Jackson and Gerald P. "Jay" Jackson of Baton Rouge, LA; sister, Sara Elizabeth Kapp Ludlam and husband Mickey Ludlam, nephews Wesley Raymond Ludlam and Gunnar Paul Ludlam of Prairieville, LA; brother, Bret Matthew Jackson and wife, Mallory Palmisano Jackson of Baton Rouge, LA; mother-in-law, Carla Berry Sulzer of Baton Rouge, LA; father-in-law Richard P. Sulzer of Mandeville, LA; brother-in-law Jesse Sulzer (Ashley); sisters-in-law Laura Sulzer Davidson (William), Sarah A. Sulzer Kyle was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John Harvey Jackson, Jr. and Edna "Betty" Gerald Jackson of Baton Rouge, LA; maternal grandparents Harvey William Wilkening and Dorothy Ohlberg Wilkening of Shreveport, LA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive in Baton Rouge. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon celebrated by Rev. Tom Ranzino and Br. Ray Hebert, S.C. A private service will take place at a later time.
