Mr. Jerry Reese Cook, 80, of Fairburn, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021. He was born September 7, 1940, in Sargent, Georgia, son of the late Reese Hughes Cook and Mildred Bryant Cook. Mr. Cook was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairburn. He was retired from the Fulton County Board of Education, and Estes Heating and Air. Mr. Cook was a graduate of West Georgia College with a Master's in education and administration.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mildred Cook; daughters and son-in-law, Amy and Greg Matkovich, and Alicia Katie all of Newnan; grandchildren, Reese Barker, Mason Matkovich, Willow Matkovich, and Amber Bunn; and a great-grandson, Wyatt Bunn.
The funeral service for Mr. Jerry Reese Cook will be held at 2:00, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Parrott Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Evan Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 before service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Mr. Cook to the First Baptist Church Food Bank, 23 SE Malone Street, Fairburn, GA 30213.
