Mary Kelly O'Dell, 93, of Hurt died Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Autumn Care of Altavista. She was the wife of the late Reginald Cooper O'Dell.

She was born May 19, 1927 in Suffolk, a daughter of the late Riley Kelly and Lillie Hall Kelly. She was a member of Childrey Baptist Church and a retired employee of Hicks Cleaners in Altavista. Mary loved horses, was a member of the U.S. Trotters Association, a volunteer at Autumn Care of Altavista for over 25 years and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and her kitty cats.

She is survived by one daughter, Regina Adams and her husband, Collin of Hurt; three special bonus children, Kathleen "Kak" Dayhoff and husband, John "Jack" of University Park, Florida, Barbara Allen and husband, Bill of New Port Richie, Florida, and Robert "Bob" O'Dell and wife, Joyce of The Villages, Florida; ten grandchildren, Wendy Moorehead (Trent), Scott Dayhoff, Terry Garcia (Joe), Richard Bryant, Lindsay Reeves (Jeremy), Kelsey Green (Jake), Carrie Bartlett (Brian), Cameron Preston (Marcey), Ashleigh Webb (Nick), and Lindsey Dalton (Drake); fifteen great grandchildren, Zack, Bella, Aubrianne, Jodie, Riley, Delaney, Preston, Parker, Gabby, Maryan, Grady, Griffin, Zeke, and Cohen; many near and dear nieces and nephews; and three special care givers, who were her angels, Amber Irby, Katie Childress, and Brandi Harris.

She was preceded in death by eight sisters, and four brothers.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 10, 2021 at New Prospect Baptist Church, Hurt by the Rev. Brady Willis with interment to follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
