Carolyn "Mom" Baker Beck, 86, of Morganton went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 7, 2021. Born in Burke County, NC on October 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Everett K. Baker and Levadah Ramsey Baker. Carolyn was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who dearly loved her family. Miss Beck owned and operated Cindy and Mom's Restaurant. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed sharing meals with family and friends. She played the piano at Drexel Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed taking car rides with her family.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Cindy Keys (David), Jackie Charlet, and Lisa McCormick (James); eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Miss Beck was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Denise Caraway; and two brothers, J. D. Baker and Rev. Max Baker.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Antioch Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Pastors Danny Ward and Gary Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Drexel Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their appreciation to her family and friends for their prayers of support during her illness.
