Kenneth Holt, age 81, of Lockney, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Lockney with Kyle Brock officiating. Interment will follow at the Lockney Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.



Kenneth was born September 30, 1939 in Lubbock to Robert Burl and Helene (Hays) Holt. After graduating from Lockney High School in 1958, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Army, followed by two years of National Guard duty. Returning to Lockney to marry the love his life, Jackie Lou Holt, at the Methodist Church on July 29, 1961. They were married for 59 years just two months short of their 60th anniversary. Kenneth had a love for farming and farmed in the Lone Star Community for several years before becoming an insurance agent. He serviced the Floyd County community while working for Floyd County Farm Bureau and J&K Insurance. Kenneth loved and cared for his community which is reflected in his life. He impacted many lives through his ongoing ministries as a Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Lockney, a Gideon Chaplain for the prison ministry of Plainview, and a Director of the Royal Ambassadors Program. His honors include, Lockney "1986 - Citizen of the Year", Board member of the Floyd County Farm Bureau, the President of the Floyd County Fair board, the President of the Booster Club, and the Director of Little Dribblers. Kenneth's hobbies were woodworking, golf and watching the many wondrous activities of his grandkids.



He was preceded in death by his parents.



Those remaining to cherish Kenneth's memory are his wife, Jackie; his daughter Heather, her husband Brian Smith of Corinth, Texas; his son, Kip, his wife Jennifer Holt of Brock, Texas; his grandchildren, Brayden of Corinth, Baylor of Corpus Christi; Kennedy and Kannon of Brock, Texas; his brother, Bob Holt and sister-in-law Margarite of Georgetown, Texas and his sister, Janet Cruces of Dallas, Texas. As well as his large extended family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, nephews and great-nephews along with their honorary long-time friends: Eddie Teeter, Ronnie Thornton, Jim Kassahn, Rodney Rigby, Byron Brock and Tim Cooper.
