Sonny was survived by his wife; two daughters, Michelle Whited (Mark) of Florence, Kentucky and Kim Foster (Chris) of Maumelle, Arkansas; eight grandchildren - Allen Aunspaugh (Brittany), Ryan Whited (Jess), Tamara Mott, Peyton Stanton (Mason), Emma Gastineau, Finn Foster, Emerson Foster, Aiden Foster; five great-grandchildren - Karley Mott, Lillie Aunspaugh, Audrey Nixon, Layla Aunspaugh, Cam'ren Strain and Emma Phillips; one sister - Joyce Smith of Sulfer Rock, Arkansas; two brothers - Clarence Virgil "Butch" Helton (Evenlene) of Goodletsville, Tennessee, and Gerald Boyce "Bobby" Helton (Helen) of Gary, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Lillie Helton; three brothers - Alvin Wayne Helton, Delmer "Doc" Helton, and Elmer Helton; three sisters - Nancy Hammonds, Betty Hammonds, and Billie Whaley.
