Harley Townsend, 76, passed away November 29, 2015 in Mesquite, Texas. He was born October 1, 1939 in Oak Cliff, Texas to Clarence and Mabel Townsend.

He had three brothers, David, Teddy, and Eddie, and four sisters, Billie, Carol, Sandra, and Delores. Harley attended South Oak Cliff High School where he played football (#33), served as Class President and was voted Best All Around. He met and later married his high school sweetheart, Wilma Jean Gunnin.

Harley had a successful business career, retiring from two large companies, Western Union and AON. He became a member of the Mesquite Elks Lodge where he participated in many charitable projects, served in several officer positions and later became the Exalted Ruler. He was elected as an honorary life member for his services in the community. He loved life, his family, and the Texas Longhorns. He always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell and he had an infectious laugh.

Preceded in death by his father, Clarence, mother, Mabel, his brothers, David and Eddie and sisters, Billie, Sandra and Delores. Survived by his wife Jean, son, Mike, three grand children, his brother, Teddy, sister, Carol and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be held December 4, 2015 in The Memorial Chapel at Restland in Dallas, Texas...RFH
