Dawn Mitchell, 81, passed away on Sunday September 14, 2008, after a brave fight with cancer. She was born in Sioux City, Iowa to Clarence and Olive Hedlund. She graduated from Central High School at age 16. She married Jerry Mitchell on August 29, 1948. They had two daughters, Lori and Karen, and lived in Iowa, Nebraska and Michigan and then moved to Stockton in 1964. Dawn worked as the secretary to the superintendent of LUSD in Stockton, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Lincoln Presbyterian Church. She loved family and holidays-especially Christmas and Valentine's Day.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jerry Mitchell, her daughter Lori McPheeters (Ed) of Stockton, CA and her daughter Karen Mitchell Flam (Larry) of Riverside, IL. Also by her grandchildren. Also by her brother Brent (Judi) of Sioux City, Iowa, her brother-in-law Tom (Pat) of Colorado Springs, CO.
