Betty was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time and making crafts with her grandchildren. She was active in church, where she served in various positions and taught kindergarten. She and her husband Jim had spent over 40 years serving the Lord in various churches around the country. They were active in Spring Creek Baptist Church, Benton, Arkansas, Forest Hills Baptist Church, Benton, Arkansas, Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, Alexander, Arkansas, Holland Chapel Baptist Church, Benton, Arkansas, New Prospect Baptist Church, Colt, Arkansas, Pinecrest Baptist Church, Cornith, Mississippi, Glendale Baptist Church, Kenner, Louisiana, First Immanuel Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Calvary Baptist Church, Orlando, Florida, Tabernacle Baptist Church, Starkville, Mississippi, and New Hope Baptist Church, Starkville, Mississippi.
Mrs. Philamlee was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dwight Caldwell, Sr., and her son Greg Philamlee.
She is survived by her husband James "Jim" Philamlee, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, her son Jimmy Philamlee, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Jonesboro, Arkansas, her daughter-in-law Tammy Essary Philamlee of Cornith, Mississippi, her sister-in-law Norma Caldwell of Benton, Arkansas, her granddaughters Dr. Whitney Philamlee of Little Rock, Arkansas, Amy Philamlee Flores and her husband Michael of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Tage Philamlee of Cornith, Mississippi, and Emily Philamlee of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and her great-granddaughter Layla Flores of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Mrs. Philamlee is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm – 2:00pm on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Olmstead Funeral Home with funeral services following at 2:00pm with Pastor Carl Higgs officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
