Obituary
Mary Frances Logsdon, age 98 of Cincinnati, Iowa passed away Wednesday, May 05, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville.

Mary was born on November 8, 1922 in Green Castle, Missouri, the daughter of John Ellis Polson and Jennie Adaline (Ford) Polson. She was united in marriage to Vaughn Logsdon on April 10, 1939, and to this union, four children were born, John, Charles, Vaughn "Gene", and Robert "Bob".

Mary worked at the Box Factory in Centerville for a period of time before working for McKee Button Factory where she worked in both shells and plastic. She then started employment at Camp-A-While in Centerville, sewing canvas tops for fold down campers. She worked as a line worker for McGraw Edison for many years until their closing. Mary's last job was at MercyOne Hospital in Centerville. She worked there for ten years in the Housekeeping department.

In her free time, Mary enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. She made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren, and sewed her own clothing. Mary loved to cook, especially popcorn balls, homemade bread, apple pies and cinnamon rolls. She was always very pleasant, friendly and always smiling. She hung wallpaper, and would help wherever a helping hand was needed. Most importantly, Mary cherished her family, especially her grandchildren.

Left to cherish Mary's memory are her children, Gene (Kathy Thomas) Logsdon of Cincinnati, and Bob (Jane) Logsdon of Cincinnati; nine grandchildren, Dennis (Brenda) Logsdon, Becky (Chuck) Lenig, Melinda Opperman (Jimmie Bill Clark), Steve (Liz) Logsdon, Tonia (Eric) Hengstenberg, Cevin (Tonia) Logsdon, Angie (Reese) Davies, Patrick (Dianne Humphries), and Jason Logsdon; seventeen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Berniece "Midge" McHenry of Cincinnati, and Jennie Mae (Robert) Mullins of St. Louis, Missouri; as well as several extended family members.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn Logsdon on January 10, 1979; her parents, John and Jennie Polson; two sons, John Logsdon and Charles Logsdon; four siblings, Gilbert Lloyd "Gibb" Polson, Charles William "Rod" Polson, John "Ellis" Polson, and Dollie Margaret Logsdon; one grandchild, Michael Logsdon; and a great grandchild, Sidney Hengstenberg.
