CAROL A. OTT, 30, and [her fiancé] CORNELIUS "CORKY" KASTEN III, 36, both of Wayne, died Thursday.

Ott lived in Paterson before moving to Wayne six years ago. She was a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service in Ridgewood, where she worked for eight years.

A 1978 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson, Ott received a bachelor's degree in political science from Montclair State College in 1982. She was a parishioner of St. Gerard Roman Catholic Church in Paterson.

Surviving are her mother Angela Czarkowski Ott of Haledon; sister Joan Sagona of Dalzell SC; and brothers James Ott of Paterson and Joseph Ott, Jr., of Haledon.

Mass for Ott and Kasten will be said Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Gerard Church, with burial in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting is Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, Wayne.

Carol and Corky were two of the four victims of a revenge-motivated spree killer who died in prison on 23 Sep 1996 of natural causes.
