Clarence Omar Phillips was born to David Isaac and Mary C. (Kees) Phillips. He married Inez (Harman) Phillips, and they had one child Ray Granville. Omar spent most his life on the Delaware Township, Hancock County, Ohio farm. In addition to farming, he was a photographer and clerk in Forest, Ohio. In 1897 he become a member of the S.S. Lodge, K. of P. in Forest.
Clarence died of appendicitis on December 11, 1903 at age 27 years. He son Ray was only 3 years old at the time. Inez and Ray continued to live on the farm with Clarence's parents David and Mary.
His obituary says the following: Always holding the confidence and interest of all persons with whom he transacted business, and being ever ready and willing to lend a helping hand to a worthy brother or friend when in need or distress. He bore his last long sickness and suffering with much fortitude and patience.
