Services for Ray Rufus Taylor will be at 11AM, Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Walters, LA, with Rev. Larry Whittington officiating. Visitation will be at the Church Saturday, from 9:30 AM until time of services.
Interment will follow at Heard Cemetery, Manifest, LA, under the direction of Magnolia Funeral Home, Alexandria, LA.
Ray Rufus Taylor, 86, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2021, in Jonesville, LA. He was a loving father, brother, son and dear friend to many. He loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting and spending time with his children. One of his highlights was roasting a good hog on Big Bayou and having his friends and family with him.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harvey Duey Taylor and Violet Taylor; son, Johnny Ray "Lil Man" Taylor; wife and mother to his children, Vivian "Prudy" Taylor and sister, Tehlene McCahill.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Penny Jo Wiggins; grandsons, Dewey and Brennan Wiggins; granddaughter, LeAnn Musgrove and husband Brent; great grandsons, Slater Wiggins, Chase and Conner Musgrove and special niece, Sherry Watts Stafford, who took good care of him.
Pallbearers will be Dewey Wiggins, Brennan Wiggins, Slater Wiggins, Donald Lee Chevallier, Tommy Joe McClure and Eddie Glen Sanson. Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Watts, Jimmy Watts, Danny Watts and Calvin Watts, Jr.
