J.B. McEntire, 59, moved to Dallas, Texas in 1927. He attended Eastland County schools and for a number of years teaching in the schools of Eastland County, including Hankins Norman College in Gorman. He studied law and became one of the leading lawyers in Texas. At the time of his death, which came suddenly as he was playing golf with friends, he was general counsel for the Hunt Oil Company of Dallas.
Survived by his wife; two children - Bartow McEntire, Jr, Mrs. Mary Tom Knight; his mother - Mary McEntire; sisters - Mrs. A.C. Simmons, Mrs. John A. Choate, Mrs. J.F. Hankins; one brother - Grady McEntire.
