She will be remembered as a woman bursting with love for the Lord, her church, and especially her family. Her grandkids were her joy and she treasured spending time with them. She was always well supplied with games, arts and crafts, and snacks ready for their visits.
She was vitally involved with her church, including teaching Sunday School. Karen opened her heart and home to many foster children over the years as well as extended family and friends. Her loving and giving nature was a true example of God's love for all.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy (Fowler) Ogden.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Howard Paul Harmon; children: Steven Paul (Lisa Ann) Harmon, Brenda Lynn Easterling, and Kristy Kay Brimm; grandchildren: Chaz (Jessica), Teal, Kyler (Taylor), Chris (Lisa), Zachary (Christina), Justin, Jared, Steven, Destyni (Brandon), Austin (Abbey), Sadie (Janazhia), and CJ; great-grandchildren: Alan, Lillian, Cameron, Elliot, Blake, Caleb, Makenzie, Madeline, Declan, and Hunter; sisters, Rita Furlong and Gloria (Marvin) Bates; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Karen's niece, Tonya Burke, who has been such a great support and blessing over the last few weeks.
A funeral service celebrating Karen's life will be held Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Loomis Park Baptist Church in Jackson, Michigan, with Pastor Rich Zawadzki officiating. The family will begin receiving guests one hour prior to the service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Zachary, Steven, Chaz, Kyler, Austin, CJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the American Cancer Society, Mid-Michigan Office, East Lansing, MI.
