Frankenmuth, MI

Passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at home after a difficult illness, age 72 years. Gail was born December 28, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Hildegarde (Zaworski) Heuer. She contracted Polio when she was 18 months old and it helped her in life to truly overcome many obstacles. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University and began a career as a teacher of Hearing Impaired children in the Saginaw Public and Saginaw County Hearing Impaired programs. Through her years of teaching, she had many students whom she cared for as if they were her own. She married George Hester on November 2, 1974 in Saginaw; he survives her.

She is also survived by her daughter Emily (Dennis) McDonagh Jr., and their two daughters Grace and Rose; her sister Lynn (Les) Brooks and their children Dan (Tracey) Brooks, Dawn (Michael) Noordijk, Lisa (Shannon) Rupp and their next generation Dana and Cailin Brooks, and Timothy and Jonathan Noordijk; brother-in-law William (Bogda) Hester; sister-in-law Jane (Ken) Thomas and Aunt Marcella Galush, as well as good friend, Val Stamper.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother and brother-in-law Thomas Hester.

Gail also loved her dogs over the years. Their names include Buffy, Tulip, Katie (who went to school with her) Shelby, Fannie, Carly, Bear, Buster, Bella, Benson, and Willow.
