Death of James Gilkey
Relatives of James S. Gilkey, formerly of Maple City, but late of California, yesterday received a message from Mrs. Gilkey who is in Los Angeles, saying that Mr. Gilkey had passed away the night before, Thursday night. He had been in poor health for some time and went west in the hope of becoming improved. The deceased was an early settler of Cowley county and was well known here. He was 67 years of age. Besides the widow a son and a daughter survive him. The body will be brought here it having left Los Angeles last night. Funeral arrangements are to be made later.

Funeral of J.S. Gilkey
The funeral of James S. Gilkey, whose death occurred last Thursday in Los Angeles, California, will be held tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock in the Maple City church. Rev. Pool will conduct the services. Interment will be made in Maple City cemetery.
The body of Mr. Gilkey, accompanied by the widow, arrived here last night from California and was taken to Maple City this morning.
