Family legend has it that Harry "jumped ship" in New York.
Married Johanna Auguste Edom in Newark, NJ. in April 1893 at the age of 21.
Died at the New York Skin and Cancer Hospital at the age of 46.

OBITUARY:
On Tuesday, September 3, 1918. Henry Summerer, aged 46, beloved husband of Johanna Summerer (nee Edom). Relatives and friends, Newark Lodge 237, Loyal Order of Moose, and Employees of Sprague Electric Company, hoist department, are invited to attend the funeral Friday, Sept 6, 2:30 PM from residence, 323 North Sixth St. Interment at Fairmount Cemetery.
